Ahead of your appointment, consider spending a bit of extra time to exfoliate the areas to be treated. A gentle dry brushing helps exfoliate the skin by removing dead cells that could clog your pores and result in ingrown hairs. We also recommend you drink plenty of water and keep your skin moisturized before your waxing appointment. Please note that while your skin should be adequately hydrated, you should come to your appointment with clean skin, free of lotions and perfumes.
After waxing, your skin will appear slightly red and warm to the touch. This is entirely normal and resolves on its own within a few hours. To help your skin cool down faster, make sure you wear loose-fitting clothes to your appointment, avoiding tight jeans and synthetic fibers. To minimize the risk of ingrown hairs, make sure you avoid hot showers and strenuous exercise like lifting, cycling or running until the skin goes back to normal. If you’re having an intimate wax, opt for cotton underwear as natural fibers let the skin breath resulting in a faster cool down.
